359 lbs of marijuana seized, two females in custody after Micoud bust

Two females are in custody following a drug bust on the evening of May 3, 2020.

At approximately 8.45 pm Sunday, the Drug Squad attached to the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force’s Southern Division, along with the Special Services Unit (SSU), conducted an operation in Praslin, Micoud.

During the operation, officers intercepted a Suzuki Dzire motor car.

Following a search of the vehicle, a total of 359 pounds of cannabis was recovered.

The two females, Castries residents, were arrested and taken into police custody awaiting to be charged.

The RSLPF has expressed a deeper concern over the fact that the vehicle involved in the incident was fitted with a NEMO pass, allowing persons to cross into the various zones.
