Arthur Allain challenges Lucians to be positive online during pandemic

Five-time Groovy Soca Monarch, Arthur Allain is calling on St Lucians to use social media to make a positive difference amid the island’s fight against the coronavirus pandemic.

Social media, the musician says, provides a platform to empower and creates an opportunity for open dialogue, however, in light of the country’s status as per the coronavirus emergency protocols, Allain has noticed too much negativity posted on the various social media platforms, which he says is not conducive for the current environment.

“Many people already dealt with anxiety, depression, and frustration before this current climate and the current social media atmosphere is just making it worst,” he observed.

He posited that a negative state of mind may affect the body’s ability to fight off not just the coronavirus but also all other diseases.

Meanwhile, Saint Lucian reggae artist Natty Conqueror has called on members of the pubic to follow the COVID-19 protocols and guidelines instituted by the government for the safety of the nation.
