Body found burnt beyond recognition inside torched car at Gros Islet

A body burnt beyond recognition was discovered by police and fire officials in the early hours of Sunday, February 23, 2020.

Loop News has been reliably informed that about 2.30 am February 23, the Gros Islet Police responded to a report of a vehicular fire in an area slightly off the main road before the Pigeon Island entrance.

The Saint Lucia Fire Service was contacted and upon extinguishing the fire they notice the body of an individual in the driver's seat of the vehicle, burnt beyond recognition.

According to police sources, the matter is being treated as a possible homicide.

The Saint Lucia Fire Service and the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force are working to determine what caused the fire and the identity of the individual.
