The Lucian man that was arrested in Jamaica on Monday, January 15, 2018 was charged with possession of cocaine; dealing in cocaine; and attempting to export cocaine on Wednesday, January 17, 2018.
The Jamaica Observer reports that the man is Akim Loctor, a 25-year-old dishwasher from Castries.
The paper previously reported that at about 4:30 pm on Monday, security checks were carried out on returning passengers and crew of a cruise ship docked at the Falmouth Pier in Trelawny.
Loctor was found to be in possession of cocaine with a street value of J$625,000 which is EC$13,580.
Loctor is due to appear in court again on Tuesday, January 23.
