Cayman: 6 more positive cases; 60 total

According Cayman’s Chief Medical Officer, Dr John Lee, there are now six more positive cases in the Cayman Islands. The total positive cases are now at 60. Four of these cases were connected to those with a travel history and two were cases of community transmission.

These results were the result of 56 more tests, 50 of which were negative. The total number of tests run has been 636 with 576 negatives.

Cayman is not in a place as yet to mandate the wearing of facemasks, according to Dr Lee.

6 positive COVID-19 patients are currently hospitalized. 19 COVID-19 cases continue to be symptomatic. 6 patients are recovered (negative results after two tests). There are 5 clinically recovered patients (and this number is expected to improve by tomorrow). There is one person on a ventilator at the HSA and they have improved.

The requirement to isolate people at a George Town apartment complex, in which a tenant who was positive for COVID-19 did not obey quarantine protocols has been removed. All tenants were found to be negative.
