DASH 2020 Hero Edition looks to break barriers this weekend
With a consistently rising number of participants, DASH 2020 is positioned to record yet another outstanding number of participants come this Sunday, March 1.
Individual registration and corporate support will see an ever-growing number of DASHers coming together in unity and colour along the new Sab Vigie Playing Field to Bois D’Orange route.
Corporate partners that will make their 2020 Hero support a reality include DIGICEL, West Tech Shipping, Republic Bank, LUCELEC, KFC, LumNat Distributors, Hobie Clothing, CIBC First Caribbean and many others, who have all joined forces to ensure the success of DASH which raises funds for the upcoming Junior Achievement Saint Lucia Innovation Camp later in March.
And with its bustling flagship store at the JQ Mall, in Rodney Bay, participants for this year’s event had the smoothest registration process yet.
DASH Independence Colour Run, with its 2020 Hero Edition, enjoys not only the privilege of being a staple of the island’s independence calendar, but it remains one of the few events of the year that successfully brings together residents and visitors of all ages in a kaleidoscopic environment with clean and energetic engagement.
The event truly underlines the spirit of the 41st Independence celebration that inculcates coming together through a unique and dynamic concept for a growing island nation.
DASH was founded on family and has managed to ignite this spirit in families from around the country, and its Directors, Aberra Larcher, Akim Larcher, Dione Marshall and Robberta Rose – have all committed to ensuring that the founding principles of the event remain intact.
“We are in overdrive at this time. Looking at the numbers coming through our doors in JQ Mall - the children from school, the younger ones and their parents; even the adults coming in for group rates and entire families coming together to register together - have shown us that it is truly a keeper in our independence celebration and we are proud to be able to deliver and exceed expectations each year,” said Director Dione Marshall.
“It is important to note, that we value the safety and security of our patrons. This year we are sticking to the rules and respecting those who have paid; every DASHer must have a 2020 DASH shirt, a race number and a DASH medal to gain access to the Sab Vigie Playing Field to be able to participate in the colour run,” said Logistics Director Akim Larcher.
Like traditional DASH experience, participants can this weekend expect to finish the race in the Independence Village in Bois D’Orange where they will enjoy entertainment that include staple food and drink sampling from our partners and sponsors, live performances, a kid zone, a powder zone and new to the in 2020 set up - a blow-off zone for those who might want to leave the venue cleaner than others. Food and drinks will also be available for purchase.
But before the village participants will run, walk or chip along the outlined route in a J’ouvert-like atmosphere. The route itself will be littered with powder stops that serve as a teaser of what is to come in the village.
Registration for the event is still underway at the DASH flagship store until Saturday, February 29 between 11.00 am and 3.00 pm.
