'Dem Boyz' bikers donate to less fortunate in Marchand and Canaries
Christmas came early for two families Sunday, December, 22, 2019, all thanks to local bikers group, “Dem Boyz.”
The bikers left their Union meeting point around 10 am, for the community of Marchand where they made the first of two donations to a less fortunate family.
“There’s people out there that need help and if we can help a little bit that’s what we’re here for,” one group member disclosed.
The donations consisted of two laundry baskets of groceries and a sum of cash.
"We are not just about riding all over the place and having fun, there are a lot of families who do not have anything to have a good Christmas and if we could make them put a smile on their face...that makes us happy," one of the event coordinators said.
The group then proceeded down the West Coast where they made their second and final donation to a family in Canaries.
“I feeling happy because my son does not have a father; his father was killed in Fond St Jacques in January so right now is me alone so I am very happy with the hamper because I had nothing for Christmas,” Canaries resident Keyea Antoine revealed.
“People like these bikers is why we can have a better world and a better place to live in," she added.
The group is hoping to make the activity an annual one.
