Devastated mother of slain Bruceville DJ warned him not to go to dance

Police in Vieux-Fort are investigating another homicide in the southern town, which occurred in a dancehall in the wee hours of yesterday, November 30, 2019.
Dead is Lyndon George 24, of Bruceville, Vieux-Fort, one of the most troubled areas in the community.
George, who was at the time the DJ at the dance in Bruceville, had his life snuffed out of him by a single bullet to the head. He was pronounced dead at the Saint Jude Hospital.

Upon hearing the gunshot, which rang out about 2 am, patrons at the at dance scampered for safety.
According to his family members, the loss of George has left them devasted.
“I don’t even know what to do,” Linda Daniel, the mother of the deceased told Loop News.
Daniel said she had tried to discourage her son from going to the dance, but he insisted he would go. She added that he was not a gang member but was a friend of a group of men, who recently had an altercation with another group of men of the area.
She said up to this morning, they had not found the laptop he was using at the dance nor his cell phone.
Residents of Bruceville are tight-lipped on the incident.
As of this morning, no one has been arrested in connection with the incident, which residents believe will result in reprisal killings.
The dancehall has been the scene of several violent incidents over the years.
