Forty race horses to arrive in St Lucia October 19
UPDATE: Nicole Mc Donald, Senior Communications Officer in the Office of the Prime Minister has categorically stated that, "The Government of Saint Lucia has not purchased or facilitated the purchase of any horses for the race. Meaning that no millions of dollars was spent by the Government of Saint Lucia to purchase horses for this project."
Government’s singlemindedness in moving ahead with the construction of a horse racing track in Vieux Fort despite a barrage of criticism from critics and the opposition Labour Party alike will bear fruit tomorrow, Saturday.
Loop News has learned that 40 horses will be arriving in Saint Lucia tomorrow, October 19, 2019, for the horse race planned for December 13, 2019, at the newly built track where the horses will be housed.
Details about those horses are as yet unknown, however long before their arrival much has been said about them with one talk show, just this week, claiming that the horses were purchased by the government with taxpayer monies.
That same talk show host listed the price tag on these horses at US$ 7 million. We have been unable to confirm that and government has not said anything to approve or disapprove the comments made by the talk show host.
Particulars about the horses will be forthcoming in subsequent news reports.
