Grande Riviere resident remanded for illegal gun and ammuniton

A Grande Riviere resident has been charged for illegal possession of a firearm and illegal possession of ammunition.

Stephen Vidal of Grande Riviere, Gros Islet has been remanded to the Bordelais Correctional Facility (BCF).

According to police reports, Vidal was stopped by police officers at Union on September 12 during a routine police operation.

Following a search of the minibus he was driving, officers found a 9mm pistol and four rounds of ammunition in his possession.

He made a court appearance on Monday and was remanded to the BCF by a magistrate.
