Grande Riviere search results in illegal gun and ammo charges

Police officers attached to the Gros Islet Police Station recovered a .380 pistol and ten rounds of ammunition during a search at Grande Riviere, upon the person of Michael Phillip Laurent on Friday, May 3, 2019.
Laurent, a 30-year-old resident of Grande Riviere, Gros Islet, was later charged for possession of a firearm and ammunition without a valid license.
Laurent was escorted to the First District Court where he was granted bail in the sum of $5000 cash or suitable surety, on each count.
He is expected to return to court on Wednesday, June 12, 2019.
