Holness admits Denham Town ZOSO challenges
Prime Minister Andrew Holness has acknowledged that the Government and the security forces will have to review the crime-fighting strategy in respect of Denham Town in West Kingston as murders continue to be a serious feature within the Zone of Special Operations (ZOSO) in the volatile community.
On Friday Holness told a Jamaica House Town Hall meeting in London that the zones of special operations are working generally, but there are still some challenges.
"The Mount Salem Zone of Special Operations... that is working very well. The other one in Denham Town, that is giving us some challenges and we have to take a second look at the strategy as it is employed there," the PM said.
Numerous fatal shootings have been recorded in Denham Town since last month amid a gradual reduction of the level of security presence there as part of the ZOSO implementation strategy.
The latest incident was on Pink Lane on Friday morning, when a man was killed.
