Homicide #52: record tied as stabbing victim dies

The 52nd homicide of 2017 in St Lucia ties a record for the most homicides in the nation within a year.

With a month and a half remaining in the year, it is very likely that 2017 will outpace 2011 to become St Lucia's most deadly year on record.

Kernius Charlery, 29, reportedly succumbed to stab wounds in hospital today.

Charlery was involved in an altercation with Miguel Scotland, 26, at Odlum City in Bois Patat, Castries that took place after 6 pm on Saturday, November 11. Both men sustained stab wounds, Charlery to the neck and Scotland to the chest.

Both were rushed to Victoria Hospital where they were said to be in critical condition.
