Jamaica has been listed among the 20 best places to visit in 2020.

And it's been a great day for The Rock as CNN Travel editors also named GoldenEye and Negril's Rockhouse Hotel & Spa as the top two resorts on the island.

No, this is not a PR piece on GoldenEye or Rockhouse. If you’ve ever stayed at either resort, you too would want to bottle up the experience and share it with the world.

The CNN section, penned by travel journalist Brekke Fletcher, introduces Jamaica with four key themes: James Bond, Bob Marley, turquoise waters and dazzling waterfalls, before adding: “Jamaica has a lot to offer, particularly in 2020”.

Jamaicans are often colourful with our expressions of The Rock, and in the same way many of us have grown to appreciate these experiences, visitors follow suit.

GoldenEye is a part of the Island Outpost and described as “a collection of private villas, cottages and beach huts. Each is set amid tropical gardens, private beaches and secluded coves—a Jamaica home away from home. GoldenEye is a place. A mindset. A far-reaching myth in the collective imagination. And yet, GoldenEye couldn’t exist anywhere in the world—except, of course, exactly where it is…”

The acclaimed Rockhouse Hotel & Spa is no joke either. The award-winning boutique hotel “perched over Pristine Cove on Negril’s cliffs” is a described on the hotel’s webpage as “a long-cherished destination for in-the-know, stylish travelers who come to unwind and recharge. An impeccable ethos of social and environmental responsibility, combining natural beauty, understated tropical elegance and excellent service."

Among the falls, heritage sites and tourist attractions listed were a number of territories in the tropics namely Paraty and Ilha Grande in Brazil, and all of Dominica.

In a previous October 2019 article, CNN Travel writer Jen Rose Smith listed Jamaica among the 10 of the world’s most beautiful islands.
