Lotto fever hits St Lucia as jackpot passes 1 million

With over one million dollars on the line in the Super Six Lottery Jackpot, Saint Lucians are rushing to buy tickets.

Saint Lucians across the island are contemplating one question with a seemingly limitless response: What would they do with a million dollars?

That is the question on the minds of all those playing the lotto as Tuesday evening’s jackpot surges to a record-breaking $1,020,400.00.

“We know for sure that people are very excited out there, everybody wants to take a chance to be able to win and we are seeing it,” Mary Springer, Regional Sales and Marketing Manager at Saint Lucia National Lottery told Loop News Tuesday ahead of the draw.

“We are seeing new purchases when we go to the agents, we see people coming here buying tickets that we have never seen before, so we seeing some new players coming on board,” Springer observed, adding, “We are excited for them as anything else over a million dollars is a very significant amount of money so we wish everybody luck with this evening’s draw.”

However, the unprecedented jackpot is not limited to Saint Lucia as Super 6 is played among the four Windward Islands of Dominica, Grenada, St Vincent and the Grenadines and Saint Lucia.

This means the tax-free jackpot will be divided equally if there are multiple winners.

“All players understand that it is not just Saint Lucia vying for that jackpot but three other islands so you could well imagine the excitement and the buzz that is out there in the Windward Islands.”

Tuesday’s Super 6 Jackpot will be aired from 9.00 pm across the Windward Islands.

Participants are urged to be responsible at all times.
