Man sustains serious facial injury after Dennery cutlass attack

A male individual was hospitalized on Thursday, May 14, 2020, with lacerations to his face after a suspected cutlass attack in Dennery.

The Dennery Fire Service responded to a call at La Caye, Dennery at 8.15 pm.

"Information received was that an individual was assaulted with a cutlass," Communications Officer of the Saint Lucia Fire Service, Stacy Joseph recalled.

"Arriving personnel found one male believed to be in his thirties walking towards the ambulance, bleeding profusely to his face. An examination revealed the individual sustained a laceration above his left cheek to his nose. Pressured dressing was applied and the wound was bandaged," Joseph explained.

The victim was subsequently transported to the Owen King EU Hospital in a stable condition for further medical treatment.
