Marine Police seize two vessels on suspicion of illegal entry

The Marine Unit attached to the south of the island seized two fishing vessels on Thursday, May 7, 2020, on suspicion of smuggling persons into Saint Lucia illegally.
There have been several reports and sightings of individuals entering the country illegally, which according to health officials, is putting the island at greater risk of recording more cases of the coronavirus.
Already the island has recorded eighteen cases, luckily with no deaths.
Despite patients recovering successfully over the dreaded virus, health officials remain extremely concerned with persons entering the country illegally, especially along the East Coast of the island.
It is unclear if any arrests were made as a result of the incident.
