Micoud Carnival revellers dance up a storm
It was fun galore in Micoud yesterday as the community continued its weekend of Carnival celebrations.
Four bands, which comprised of revelers of all shapes and sizes, took part in the event, which was truly a spectacle from the minute it began on Friday. They paraded some of the main streets in the community, gyrating without moderation as if there was no tomorrow.
However, it was Infinity White, the largest band, which generated the most interest among the spectators so far. They exhibited some acrobatic moves, dancing to the pulsating music of local artists while braving the inclement weather.
Commenting on the day’s event, Benda Paul, a member of the band Infinity White, said: “We are really proud of our band. We have put up a very good show so far,” adding that they will continue to develop their talent and creativity.
A reveler of another band said: “Carnival fever is my bone, back, spine… I feel like jamming for the whole night.”
And as for the spectators, they too had a rollicking time jumping in and out the bands, resulting in the DJ’s constantly asking them to stay out of it.
The event continues today (Monday) with the parade of the bands.
