Montserrat ready for 2019 Alliouagana Festival of the Word
The 2019 Alliouagana Festival of the Word is themed Continue the conversation, change the narrative and is set to inspire and excite literary lovers. The event will include a line-up of lectures, readings and performances, book signings will create the space for attendees to meet authors from across the globe.
The festival will be held at the Cultural Centre, Little Bay, Montserrat between November 14 and 17.
Confirmed featured authors include Jamaica-born novelist, playwright, journalist and historian Olive Senior, writer on American studies and professor of Critical Race and Ethnic Studies at the University of Vermont Dr Emily Bernard and psychologist Dr Cheryl Tawede Grills.
The festival team said their intention is to continue attracting growing numbers of visitors, award-winning authors, and publishers to sustain economic and cultural growth in Montserrat. A feature of the festival is the intention of creating a space for mutually beneficial relations and collaboration between local, regional, and global through networking.
