Parents concerned about lack of preschools in Laborie

Parents of preschool students in the village of Laborie are experiencing a situation which is causing them much inconvenience.
Some years ago, they had the luxury of choosing preschools of their choice for their children due to the number of preschools in the community but now the situation has changed.
In the heart of the small community where there were once about five preschools, today there are none. All the preschools in Laborie are located in the outskirts of the community, which creates some inconvenience for parents who send their children to those schools.
All the preschools that were located in the village of Laborie closed one after the other in quick succession.
The last preschool to close its doors in the village did so over a year ago. According to its administrator, Jermain Ragoonan, the policy of government to ensure all preschools on the island be upgraded played a role in its closure, as upgrading her school was a challenge for her at the time. She also experienced difficulty in receiving payments from the parents of students who attended her school.
The compound of that building is now transformed into a pan yard, where a group of young men and women of the community practice playing pan and are doing very well in the local panorama competition.
“Imagine we had so many preschools in the village of Laborie but now only the outskirts have… In the past, our children could have just walked to school but now we have to send them to school via transport,” a parent told Loop News.
Another said there is a need for a few preschools in the village due to the number of children there who attend preschools elsewhere.
Residents of Laborie are now wondering why no one in the community has seen the need to open a preschool in the village, which would save parents of the inconvenience of sending their children to schools on the outskirts of the community, which sometimes causes them to worry about their safety.
