Pierre gets near unanimous Vote of Confidence as SLP leader

Philip J. Pierre received an almost unanimous vote of confidence to remain political leader of the Saint Lucia Labour Party at the SLP's Annual Conference of Delegates held on Sunday, October 21, 2018, at the Fond St Jacques Primary School in the constituency of Soufriere/ Fond St, Jacques.
Pierre received 273 votes in his favour and a mere 3 votes against which set off an enthusiastic reaction by party delegates in a show of support for their leader.
Pierre's leadership went uncontested. The party votes for leaders following general elections and holds a vote of conference annually thereafter.
