Police arrest and charge man for causing death in Bexon accident

Morgan Khodra of Forestierre has been arrested and charged for Causing Death by Dangerous Driving in relation to the Bexon accident that claimed the life of Ruphinus Pascal.
The Traffic Department of the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of 56-year-old Pascal of Bexon, Castries following a vehicular collision. The incident occurred on Saturday, September 19, 2020, along the Bexon Highway, involving a truck and a pickup van occupied by the deceased.
On Monday, September 28, 2020, Khodra, who was identified as the driver of the truck, was arrested and charged for Causing Death by Dangerous Driving, in relation to the said incident.
Khodra was escorted to the First District Court where he was granted bail in the sum of $20,000 cash or suitable surety.
Pascal's stepdaughter, Khadisha Fergus, said that Pascal had come to pick up her mom as is customary on a Saturday to head shopping when the accident occured.
"He was seated in a parked vehicle waiting on my mom who had gone back inside cuz apparently she had forgotten her mask... before she could get to the vehicle, all she heard was the screeching of tires and my stepdad's car in a tangled mess."
Fergus continued: "One can imagine how devasting this was for us, especially my mom, seeing the man she spent 28 years of her life with trapped in a vehicle coughing up blood all thanks to this drunk driver... How do you feel knowing that you took an innocent life? You took my step dad away, the love of my mom's life. A father, an uncle, a grandfather, How do you feel seeing the pain and hurt in my mom's eyes?"
