Several arrests made in relation to recent homicides across the island
Earlier today, October 22, 2019, Acting Corporal Ann Joseph briefed the media on updates in relation to recent homicides and other matters of interest.
18-year-old Jallix Howell of Morne Panache, Dennery was charged for causing the death of Burke Baptiste, the 28-year-old who was found dead at a remote farm in La Caye, Dennery on October 15, 2019. A second male, age 17, is currently in police custody in connection with this murder, after he was arrested today, October 22, 2019, in possession of a .380 pistol and seven rounds of ammunition. He is awaiting charges.
25-year-old Noah Alex Valcin alias Alleck of Barons Drive, Soufriere and 26-year-old Scion Gills of New Development, Soufriere, were arrested and charged for causing the death of Sharlom Cyril on October 12, 2019, in Soufriere. They are both remanded until November 27, 2019.
Five individuals are currently in police custody in relation to the death of Titus Joseph in Vieux Fort on October 19, 2019.
43-year-old Earnie Charles of Grande Riviere, Gros Islet, 42-year-old Kervin Hutchinson of Wilton's Yard, Castries and 26-year-old Sherquille Rosemaine of Rockhall, Castries, were charged for unlawful possession of a .380 pistol and two rounds of ammunition, after being pursued by officers attached to the Traffic Unit on October 19, 2019, at Trois Piton. Officers were alerted to the trio after an alleged robbery in the community of Dennery.
