SLTA offers 7-minute St Lucian escapes on Instagram live
The Saint Lucia Tourism Authority (SLTA) is offering an authentic virtual Saint Lucia experience to visitors and residents while people stay safe at home amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
The virtual series is aired twice weekly via Instagram Live on @TravelSaintLucia.
As Saint Lucia and the world adjust to the new reality of life under self-quarantine in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, the SLTA is inviting consumers to escape virtually for 7 Minutes in Saint Lucia with a brand new social media series that airs twice per week, live on Instagram.
Travel Saint Lucia commenced this virtual experience on Thursday, March 26. The series will continue on Tuesday, March 31, with a culinary experience by Chef Shorne Benjamin.
According to Public Relations Manager at the SLTA, Geraine Georges, “Seven minutes in Saint Lucia is a twice-weekly Instagram series that allows visitors and locals to immerse themselves in the beauty, culture and local flavors of Saint Lucia.”
Saint Lucia is an award-winning destination, renowned in the romance niche as the World’s Leading Honeymoon and Wedding Destination and the success behind ‘Her’ story is indicative of the people who make it happen across the industry.
“With us in Saint Lucia observing the social distancing protocols that have been put in place, many of us are at home, so by creating the seven minutes in Saint Lucia social media series, our aim is to virtually share Saint Lucian culture, its natural beauty, in an authentic way with people as they stay at home and to keep in touch with our future visitors, our valued travel agents and hopefully provide a bright spot in everyone’s day as we know that being at home right now can be mentally challenging.
So we look forward to everyone joining us at 11 am Tuesdays and Thursdays for a seven-minute virtual experience as we escape right here at home,” George explained to Loop News.
Additional planned activities in the series include a fresh air hike at Tet Paul Nature Trail, guided meditation amidst the Saint Lucian landscape, cocktail crafting with local rum, cocoa tea making with a local chef and lessons about wellness benefits of plants from a local herbalist.
Authentic to Saint Lucia is Dennery Segment music and so the SLTA has engaged local DJ Hollywood HP to deliver a Saint Lucian party experience on Thursday, April 2, 2020, from 5.00 pm to 6.00 pm.
Persons are encouraged at the designated times, go to the @TravelSaintLucia Instagram page to join the live experience.
