Soufriere police arrest two men for illegal weapon, ammunition

Soufriere police arrested two men upon discovering an illegal firearm during a routine traffic check.

On Tuesday, September 22, 2020, at about 11:30pm, officers attached to the Soufriere Police Station conducted a search of a grey motor car at Fond Bernier, Soufriere where a black Ruger 9mm caliber firearm with a magazine containing five live rounds of ammunition was recovered.

Officers arrested 34-year-old Dwayne John Raymond of Bay Street, Gros Islet and 30-year- old Tennyson Volney of Bocage, Castries in connection with possession of firearm and ammunition.

On Friday, September 25, 2020, both individuals were charged for the said offences.

The two individuals are currently in custody.
