St Lucia's Best and Worst Christmas Gift Ideas

Purchasing Christmas gifts can be tricky, especially if you don't have Santa's personalized naughty or nice list to tell you who needs what. Which is why people often don't precisely meet the gift ideas others had in mind. But hey, at least we can get a good laugh out of it by sharing the best and worse gifts for 2018 right here in St Lucia.

So here's what you chose:

BEST

1. RUM: There's no surprise here that this would be number one as St.Lucia sits in the top 20 countries in the WORLD for highest alcohol consumption per capita. You can see for yourself that we have bars across from bars yet we don't get tired of it. So if you love your uncle get him a Chairman's Spice.

2. MONEY: Nothing says Christmas more than receiving money to buy your own gift. Some might say it's an easy present but trust and believe it's the best. When money is given, it can be spent on exactly what the recipient wants.

3. A CHRISTMAS STAYCATION AT YOUR FAVOURITE 'EXPENSIVE' HOTEL: Talk about bougie! Your significant other will love you even more. Spending quality time in a relaxing environment is something we all want. Why pay for a separate vacation when you can do it right here on your own island.

WORST

1 FRUIT BASKET:  You were surely on the naughty list if your friends and family thought of nothing else than to get you a fruit basket. I mean sure it's delectable but compared to an iPhone xs from DIGICEL, it's not that great of a present for Christmas.

2 SOCKS: Sigh, this is the moment you realised that your family truly hates you. But hey, it's the thought that counts right.

3 A PRETTY EMPTY BOX:  Yes it's sad but it happens. Some of us receive nothing at all for Christmas, yet we spend hundreds of dollars on presents for others. It's an unfair world at times. But as the saying goes it's always better to give than to receive.

Hopefully this year you've been good enough to get all that you desire and more.
