St Lucia's Education Ministry launching learning from home 3rd term

The Ministry of Education has rolled out it COVID-19 Education Response for the third term, which will commence April 20, 2020.

Schools on the island were forced to close early from March 16, 2020, to April 13, 2020, amid COVID-19 fears.

While the pandemic took the nation and the world by surprise, the Ministry of Education has taken measures, making the best of the situation in ensuring continued learning for all students by adapting to digital education.

"The 3rd Term will commence on April 20, 2020. Students will continue their education from home.

The 3rd Term will focus on digital instruction and learning which includes lessons being delivered via the internet, radio and television," Education Minister, Dr Gale Rigobert revealed.

The transition to Digital Education will continue with the support of several agencies and partners, to accommodate students and teachers who lack connectivity.

"In the 3rd Term, no new concepts will be introduced. The term will be spent consolidating topics which were introduced during the first and second terms.

Over the next few days, more information and initiatives regarding our comprehensive plan to facilitate the continued delivery of education to our nation’s youth will be shared," Rigobert said.
