Cupcake bouquets, cheesecake cones and more at Tana’s Cakery
No those aren't flowers, those are cupcakes!
Flowers and candy are the tried, true and traditional way of telling someone that you care.
However, for those occasions when flowers and candy aren’t enough, a cupcake bouquet and some homemade sweets from Tana’s Cakery in Massade, Gros-Iset could be just what you need to make that special someone smile.
Shantana Graham, who is Jamaican by birth, moved to Saint Lucia five years ago and has been wowing her Facebook fans with incredible delectable cakes.
It only takes a glance to realize that Shantana has a knack for transforming buttercream into magnificent artwork. Her cupcake bouquets look very realistic and the attention to detail makes it hard to believe that she was self-taught.
Shantana started baking years ago when she became pregnant with her second son. She always craved cakes, but the store-bought brands never satisfied her. That is when she decided to bake her own. At first, she only baked for her close friends but as COVID-19 rolled in and Mother’s Day arrived, she seized the opportunity to offer her cupcake bouquets as Mother’s Day gifts.
“When I started my baking, nobody knew about me until COVID-19.”
Besides cupcake bouquets, Tana’s Cakery creates an array of sweet treats including her famous cheesecake cones which is one of the most unique forms of cheesecake desserts I have seen on island.
It is made with a decorated waffle cone stuffed with a cheesecake filling. One of the most delicious desserts that will ever bless your taste buds. It’s like eating ice cream but with an amazingly creamy, crunchy twist. The caramel and cookies and cream are among the flavors that her customers are quite fond of.
Shantana is optimistic about her business and plans to open a small dessert shop in the future to keep her passion alive. She encourages small business owners to keep going and don’t stop trying.
“Don’t give up. If it’s something that you really love go for it.”
