T&T athlete held in connection with Tobago accident

A Trinidad and Tobago Olympic athlete is currently assisting Scarborough Police with their inquiries into an accident in Tobago, which resulted in the death of a 35-year-old woman.

Police confirmed that the 23-year-old sprinter is in Tobago and is being questioned in relation to the incident which took place in July 2018.

The 23-year-old athlete was held in Trinidad on Sunday and air transported to Tobago around 6:30 am on Monday.

No charges have been laid against the athlete, but he is expected to be placed on identification parades in Tobago.
