Twenty-nine St Lucians living abroad have died from COVID-19
The Saint Lucia Diaspora Affairs Unit has provided updates on the death toll of St Lucians living around the world from the coronavirus (COVID-19).
The Unit reports there are now 29 St Lucians who have died from COVID-19: 22 in the United States, six in the United Kingdom and one in Switzerland.
The two most recent announcements via the Unit's Facebook page can be seen below.
"My people, we have sadly lost another in the New York Diaspora to COVID 19. Thomas Conrad Emile. He had spent quite a number of years in the UK and then migrated to the USA. He died in Yonkers.
Those who know the bereaved families in the US and at home, reach out in Love and comfort.
May he and the others rest in eternal peace with their Father God."
"It is with deep sadness we report two more deaths in our USA Diaspora.
Cuthbert Myers and Dora Scott Southerland.
Such a painful and difficult time. One, that we all long to be over, the suffering is tremendous. Please if you know the bereaved, kindly reach out, just a word to know you care, goes a long way. May their souls rest in Eternal peace.
May the God of Mercy surround us all with his protection but more so, our beloved Diaspora."
Saint Lucia currently has 17 COVID-19 cases, 15 of which have recovered. No deaths have been recorded on island.
