Two in custody in relation to shooting death of Mon Repos businessman

The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force have issued a release stating that two individuals are currently in their custody in relation to the apparent shooting death of Mon Repos businessman, Andrew Joseph.

Police say that officers attached to the Criminal Investigations Department, Micoud Police Station, received a report of a robbery at Mon Repos, Micoud at about 7 pm on Saturday, November 9, 2019.

On arrival, officers encountered 76-year-old Joseph with an apparent gunshot injury to the abdomen.

Police report that he was conveyed to the St Jude Hospital via ambulance, where he was admitted.

Joseph succumbed to his injuries at the hospital on Monday, November 11, 2019, at about 6 pm.

A post-mortem examination has been scheduled for a later date.
