UWP defeats SLP 11 seats to 6

The results are in, the United Workers Party has won the election.

The UWP proved victorious in Choiseul/Saltibus, Micoud North, Micoud South, Castries South East, Dennery South, Soufriere, Anse La Raye/Canaries, Castries Central, Castries North, Babonneau and Gros Islet.

The Labour Party managed to take Dennery North, Vieux-Fort North, Vieux-Fort South, Laborie, Castries South and Castries East.

Most seats were won comfortably. Close races included Dennery North, where SLP's Shawn Edward defeated UWP's Jimmy Henry and Vieux-Fort South, where outgoing Prime Minister Kenny Anthony defeated UWP's Ulric Mondesir.

The most decisive wins were seen in Castries South East, where UWP's Guy Joseph defeated SLP's Joachim Henry; in Castries North, where UWP's Stephenson King defeated SLP's Stephen John Charlery; in Gros Islet where UWP's Lenard Spider Montoute defeated SLP's Emma Hippolyte; and in Babonneau where UWP's Ezechiel Joseph defeated SLP's Alvina Reynolds.
