All court sittings in St Lucia postponed due to coronavirus
The Saint Lucia Bar Association this week has announced the suspension of court proceedings in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.
"There will be no sittings of the civil, the commercial and the criminal court for the week of March 16, 2020. All matters scheduled for hearing during that period will be rescheduled and notices will be sent to the relevant attorneys," Renee St Rose, President of the Saint Lucia Bar Association told Loop News Tuesday.
The attorneys, she noted, will indicate which matters they wish to have determined due to their urgency or which matters may be determined on paper.
"The court will then manage these matters on a case by case basis. Deeds together with civil and commercial matters may be filed at the criminal division at the Nyerah Court," St Rose added.
The Registry of the Supreme Court is thankful for the support of attorneys and the public at this time and apologises for any inconvenience the current arrangements may cause.
