CXC Registrar expects exam results to be released late September
CXC Registrar and CEO, Dr Wayne Wesley.
CXC examination results will not be back until after the regular start of Fall semesters for universities.
When students would usually be awaiting results for their CSEC and CAPE, this year due to COVID-19, the thousands who are writing CXC exams are now busily preparing for and sitting their 2020 examinations.
July 13 marked the commencement of exams by the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC). CXC Chief executive officer and registrar Dr Wayne Wesley extended his best wishes to all candidates, parents, and educators on Monday via CXC's YouTube page.
He indicated that exams will conclude on August 4. The results will be released by September 22.
“The Council continues to work closely with the ministries of education and local registrars in each territory and extends a special thank you for their sterling work in making the final preparation for the administration of the regional examinations," the registrar said.
Wesley also mentioned that examination centres and invigilators must follow the health protocols of their respective territories.
He specifically noted the mandatory wearing of masks, social distancing, and sanitising of hands and surfaces. Additionally, candidates must follow the guidelines and arrive early to their examination centres.
The CXC registrar ended his encouraging speech by reminding all candidates that with the support of their family and friends, they are “best placed to do well”.
