Five rescued from precipice after car accident in Bouton, Soufriere

Emergency personnel at the southern fire stations responded to a distress call at Bouton, Soufriere on Thursday, May 21 at 8.45 pm.

Information received stated that a vehicle with five individuals, four females and one male, ran off the road and down a precipice. A response was made with three ambulances and two rescue tenders from the Vieux Fort Fire Station, Crash Fire Hall and the Soufriere Fire Station.

The responding officers extricated the five occupants of the vehicle and took them out of the valley using ropes and the basket stretcher, with the assistance of members of the public.

The patients, who sustained various injuries, were immediately provided rapid transportation to the Soufriere Hospital for emergency medical treatment.

Subsequently, the patients were transferred in a stable condition to the St Jude Hospital for further treatment
