Hungry? Time for Cocktails, Mocktails & Dinner

Organisers of the JMMB Goal Getter Live webinar series added a new layer to the format of the virtual programme.

The summer edition of the series: Cocktails, Mocktails and Meal Ideas to Beat the Heat, featured a virtual cook-off and happy hour, of sorts.

Cortia ‘Chef Bingy’ Bingham played fare game while David Morrison and Sharmon Hinds-Smith from the J Wray & Nephew team held the reins during happy hour.

Mediating was JMMB Group Chief Marketing Officer Kerry-Ann Stimpson, who guided viewers throughout the session and challenged viewers to participate.

While she prepped, McKenzie, the multi-tasker, shared her inspiration for starting the COVID-concocted subscription healthy food business of the same name.

The empowerment mantra for the beloved motivational speaker reads ‘when you eat better, you look better and you feel better about yourself’.

So, it’s only fitting that a culinary business was borne from her many hours in lockdown.

McKenzie dubbed her salad ‘Healthy-ish’: an unconventional take on a power salad.

Among the ingredients used were parmesan cheese, a dash of honey, starfruit, cranberries, red peas, and pineapples.

She confessed having a sweet tooth compelled her to create a salad that’s as sweet as it is healthy – which she described ‘80% healthy, 20% comforting’.

Appleton Estate Senior Blender David Morrison shared a brief history of Appleton Estate then provided a ‘rum down’ – detailing the various rums in the Appleton Estate portfolio – laced with pointers on how to enjoy them.

Morrison also re-introduced the newest member to the Appleton Estate family, the 8 Year Old.

JWN Academy Lead Sharmon Hinds-Smith kicked happy hour up a notch with four delectable concoctions incorporating seasonal fruits.

Smith opted for four cocktails and four mocktails including the Golden Mojito, 8 Year Old Epic, Cucumber Mint Fresher, and Mango Coco Loco.

And, of course, each mocktail created came with tips to zhoosh it up with varying spirits.

She also urged viewers to create their own cocktails as it’s ‘fun for a night home’, or a great way to include the kids (mocktails for the juniors, of course.)
