Police on the hunt for men in viral video
Police are searching for two young men seen in a viral video on social media discharging weapons carelessly, allegedly in the community of Marchand, Castries.
The video surfaced on social media on Friday, May 8, 2020.
The fourteen-second video depicts one male cranking a handgun after which he discharges one round into the air, seconds later another male seated next to him immediately discharges three rounds in the air from a handgun.
Police were seen out in large numbers throughout the Marchand community, including Entrepot.
“We are looking for the two individuals seen in the viral video in addition to any outstanding warrants,” a police official told Loop News Friday.
The exercise comes one day after police mounted an operation in the Grass Street community Thursday afternoon, in search of a resident who insulted and threatened a senior police officer in a video which has since gone viral on social media.
Earlier this year, both the Police Commissioner and the Minister for Justice and National Security made it clear that the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force (RSLPF) will not be intimidated by threats made against the police by individuals and will continue to uphold law and order.
