Can you conquer St Lucia's craziest burger Ultimate Sloppy at Roby Z?
The Ultimate Sloppy is a beast oozing with flavor
As a foodie, I love finding new delicacies across the island that one can indulge, but never have I ever encountered any food spot in St Lucia that compares to Roby Z in Corinth.
Roby Z is a cozy chill spot located near the main road complete with outdoor sitting. Although this place may be small in size, they bring huge foods and bold flavors to the table.
Roby Z started two years ago when couple Zane Walcott and Robert ’Roby’ Fanis began selling barbeque every Saturday on the Marisule highway. Since Zane is a banker, this was the only day that her busy schedule allowed for the couple to run their business.

However, COVID-19 came in and opened a window of opportunity for the couple. During the lockdown, the pair decided to reopen their business downstairs their home operating only on Fridays and Saturdays. This time, they opened up a bar run by Roby with Zane taking care of the food.
The food at Roby Z is incredible. Zane creates her own recipes and comes up with flavor combinations that are hearty and yummy. The ‘Ultimate Sloppy’ was one of the biggest burgers I had ever seen. It was sloppy on purpose and a merger of all of Roby Z’s burgers in one. This burger is a beast and was oozing with flavor; the chicken nuggets, bacon and beef were a tasty, meaty medley in my mouth. Hands down one of the best burgers I ever had even if I couldn’t get through a quarter of this giant goodness. Here’s a little secret, if you can get through this entire burger, you win a free beer of your choice.
Another one to look out for is the ‘Fatty Boom Boom’ which is a burger on a whole other level of juicy deliciousness. In addition, Roby Z serves seafood boil, which is a best-seller, chicharron (deep-fried pork), curried crab, the danger dog, which is a massive loaded hotdog, wings, lobster, you name it. Oh, their peanut punch and sea moss are to die for, a must-have. In a nutshell, they cater for small and big appetites and their prices are very reasonable with free delivery in the north of the island.
Come 2021, Roby Z will be relocating to Marisule to making it more convenient for their customers to enjoy their soul-satisfying foods. Although running their business becomes tedious at times, the couple prides themselves in making sure their food is the best and presentation is always on point.
According to Zane, “You don’t need knowledge to cook food. As long as it tastes good you don’t need to go to school to learn how to cook. Presentation is important. I train my boyfriend to always make sure the food is presentable. I always tell him don’t forget the sesame seeds when he puts out the food.”
