Soul legends Gladys Knight and Patti Labelle will go head to head on Verzuz this Sunday

Chill your drinks, prepare your Sunday best outfit and get ready to sing the night away.

Come Sunday night, the Verzuz platform will host what they have dubbed as a Master Class as Patti Labelle and Gladys Knight, two of soul music's top divas, take the stage.

Verzuz, owned by Timbaland and Swizz Beatz, made the announcement last night much to the delight of fans of the two legends.

"The Master Class we’ve ALL been waiting for! @MsGladysKnight vs. @MsPattiLaBelle 🔥 Live from The Fillmore in Philly this Sunday at 5PM PT/8PM ET. The ultimate #Verzuz! Leave ya church clothes on all Sunday and pull up to the affair of all affairs. Y’all gotta get dressed up in ya Sunday’s best for this one," Verzuz said. 

LaBelle, 76, and Knight, 76, known as the Godmother of Soul and the Empress of Soul respectively, share between them a catalogue of hits. 

LaBelle, known for her dramatic vocals, has hits such as "Lady Marmalade', 'If Only You Knew", "If You Asked Me To", "New Attitude" and "Somebody Loves You Baby".

Knight is known for hits such as "Midnight Train to Georgia", "You're the Best Thing That Ever Happened to Me", "Love Overboard", "Neither One of Us" and "I Hope You Dance".

Both women have also collaborated on the song 'I dont do duets' and 'Supwerwoman' with Dionne Warwick, among others.

Last Monday, Monica and Brandy broke records for the most viewers on the Verzuz platform with 1.2 million people logging on for a trip down R&B memory lane.
